Team Mendip Under-13s produced an excellent away performance, winning 5-1 at Wellington Wildcats.

Mollie Barnes set the tone by scoring in the first six minutes with a thunderbolt of a strike. Within a minute, Wellington scored an own goal due to Black Sox putting them under pressure.

Wellington tried their hardest to get themselves back in the game, but the defence of Jess Selwyn, Barnes and Willow Hull stood firm.

With 10 minutes to go in the first-half, Chloe Morris stepped up to score their third goal. Wellington sneaked a goal back seconds before the half-time whistle.

The second half started much like the first with Team Mendip keeping up the pressure resulting in another own goal from Wellington.

There was some great midfield break-up play from Charlotte and Chloe Morris, while Amelie Ford and Kelly Jones provided width and some quality crosses into the Wellington box.

Tegan Roberts made a darting run behind the Wellington defence but shot just wide. Securing a 5-1 win for Team Mendip was powerhouse Ford, scoring minutes before the end of the game.

Goalkeeper Ellie Brennan had little to do, but when she did she made some great saves.
