IN A game defined by two penalties, Cheddar and Winscombe battled to a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought Somerset County Premier fixture.Cheddar were fighting for a much-needed win to separate themselves from the relegation zone, but left Bowdens Park sharing the spoils.Winscombe's Greg Dover converted the first penalty after Adam Brady was judged to have been brought down in the Cheddar box.Soon after, Cheddar equalised from the penalty spot after the referee decided Paul Thoroughgood had unfairly pushed a Cheddar player as a corner was swept into the box.After the match, Winscombe chairman John Rivers said: "All in all a draw was probably a fair result."Cheddar are now poised precariously on 21 points in 15th place having played 29 games.Winscombe have 32 points from 27 games and lie in 12th place. Cheddar will play third-placed Oldland Abbotonians at home in an evening fixture on Wednesday.
