Worle Community School Year 11 boys have become Somerset’s best football team after winning the County Cup Under-16 final.

Not only are they on course for fantastic GCSE results this summer, but they also just beat Norton Hill School in front of fellow students, parents and 11 staff from Worle Community School at Bridgwater.

They took time out from GCSE revision to hear a well done message with their trophy and winning cake from principal Jacqui Scott.

Meanwhile, Worle’s Year 11 girls’ team are also in their county cup final.

Scott said: “What a fantastic performance and win. I enjoyed watching every minute of the game at Bridgwater. We are so proud of our Year 11 students for their wonderful work in GCSE year and also winning this prestigious trophy.”
