Lympsham karting star Robbie Gallier won a race at the BNL European Karting Championships in France.

ROBBIE Gallier was in scintillating form when the Eurocams-backed, Lympsham based 16-year-old karting ace raced at the Ostricourt circuit in France for the third and fourth rounds of the BNL European Karting Championship.

Robbie qualified second for the first race, a position which he held to the end. In the second race, Robbie lost places and was down to 10th due to the slippery conditions, but overtook the field to take the lead on lap four of 25. He went on to dominate the race and won by six seconds as he slowed in the final laps to save the tyres.

Qualifying fourth for the next race, Robbie dropped him down to eighth after an accident, but had a good recovery to finish third.

The fourth final was a different story. From third he started well, but was driven off the track, dropping him to 34th, eventually finishing 24th to gain valuable championship points.

Robbie is now second in the championship by just one point and is going all out in the August championship race, as the prize is a fully-supported place at the world finals in America.

Robbie is off to Belgium for the next round of the other championship, the BMC, on May 19.

Support continues from Eurocams, PIAA, Talon, Bespoke Mfg, Demon Tweeks and Moneta.
