CROQUET - NAILSEA Croquet Club's teams had a very successful weekend. They were involved in four league matches and were successful in all of them.

On Saturday Nailsea (Central) team had a convincing home win against Weston-super-Mare by 19 points to one and the Nailsea (SE) team had a much closer victory by 11 points to nine away at Kingston Maurward in the Golf Croquet League .

Central team results -doubles: Brian and Brenda Roynon won +2T (4-2) & +4; Brian McCausland & Polly Renolds won +1T (3-2) & drew 4-4. Singles: Ryan Cabble won +7, +3, +7 & +5; Jim Gregory won +2, +5, +2T (6-4) & +5; Brian McCausland won +1T (6-5) & +4; Brian Roynon drew 4-4 & won +5; Brenda Roynon won +6 & +2; Polly Reynolds won +1 & +6.

SE team results - doubles: David Hunt & Andrew Buchanan drew 5-5 & won +3T (5-2); Mary Barnes & Ron Harridge drew 3-3 & 6-6. Singles: David Hunt drew 6-6 and lost -3 & -1; David Murphy lost -1, and won +3, +3 & +2; Mary Barnes lost -4; Andrew Buchanan won +2, drew 5-5, won +7 and drew 6-6; Ron Harridge lost -3, -3 and won +2 & +3.

On Sunday, the Nailsea (South) team beat Budleigh Salterton by three games to two in the Federation League and the SE team beat Weston-super-Mare by four games to three in the B League both matches at home.
