The Avenue Tennis Club at Burnham ran a fun FA Cup final mixed doubles social tournament.

THE Avenue Tennis Club at Burnham ran a fun FA Cup final mixed doubles social tournament which was won by Colin Christison and resulted in a tie of two ladies - Dawn Redwood and captain Carrie Vohra.

Each lady played the first to six games against each other with a different male partner, which saw Colin win all four of his matches with 24 points and Dawn and Carrie tying with 19 points.

Head coach Vinny Duddy said he was pleased to see how well juniors Ben Ayers and Dan Young competed in their first adult tournament.

The club will also be running the BW Controls Ltd red and orange tournaments on May 26 from 11am and 1pm respectively.

A school holiday tennis club will be held from May 28-31 with qualified LTA coaches Vinny Duddy and Craig Phillips taking youngsters on court from 9am-4pm and teaching them to play tennis through some fun games, skills and drills. Application forms available from the website www.avenuetennis.com

The club coaches provide group and individual coaching every night of the week after school and on Saturdays for all ages and abilities with adult classes on Friday evening or Saturday afternoons. Details can be found on the website www.avenuetennis.com
