MENDIP Girls Under-13s went into the end of season official league tournament at Somerton as the league runners-up.

The team had five group games to play and did not lose one of them. Sally Cooling scored from a Sophie Marks corner kick for Mendip's first goal in their first game to give them a 1-0 win.

Hard work from Mendip kept Frome penned in their own half for most of the game until they finally got into Mendip's goalmouth where Emma Morgan and Charlotte Wilson stifled their attack, allowing Marks to run the ball back up to the halfway line where she passed to Onzia Lucas who beat a defender for Cooling to score her second goal of the tournament and take Mendip through to the final.

Yeovil were the other team in the final who had also won the league, and Mendip relished the chance take them on and the game ended scoreless.
