WORLE Community School student Sophie Thomas (12) has won a gold medal for speed bouncing when she competed at the UK Sportshall finals.
The sport involves doing as many standing jumps (side to side) over a six inch flexible hurdle placed on the floor in one minute. Sophie bounced 95 in 30 seconds (at the second attempt, as she went too fast the first time and the official lost count).
She also received a bronze medal when she anchored the 4x2 relay team to third position.
