VISION North Somerset held their eighth charity golf day at Worlebury.
VISION North Somerset held their eighth annual charity golf day at Worlebury Golf Club and raised a record £6,982.
An entry of 33 teams of four players, matched sponsorship funding by Santander Business Banking, a chance to win a new Ford car for a hole-in-one and a sunny day all added up to a great golfing charity event, which was enjoyed by everyone.
The competition was won with a score of 91 by the Priory School Hackers led by captain Tony Pound, head of ICT at Priory Community School. Second were City Slickers, captained by Nigel Lewins with 90 points. Entering for the eighth year in a row, the Dream Team captained by Terry Bradley came third with 88 points and fourth place was drawn by Laver Financial and Team Fore with 85 points.
“The day was an outstanding success” said the organisers of the event, Sue Potepa and vice-chairman of Vision North Somerset, Russ Nickells. “We have already booked Worlebury for next year’s competition on May 4 and are delighted that Will Taylor, business banking relations manager at Santander, has agreed to provide match funding for the tournament again.”
