Sir Ian Botham flies into Mendip Spring

Mendip Spring Golf Club provided one hole for a unique charity challenge by Sir Ian Botham and Australian cricketer Shane Warne.

Sir Ian Botham and former Australian cricketer Shane Warne landed at Mendip Spring Golf Club as part of a charity golf challenge, in which the cricketing greats played 18 holes in 18 different counties.

The duo travelled the country in two helicopters, beginning the challenge in County Durham at 6am and finishing at The Belfry shortly after 10pm.

The pair travelled across the UK to play 18 holes in 18 counties as part of a charity challenge for Sir Ian’s charity, the Beefy Foundation.

The money raised will help to fund specific projects relating to chronic illnesses and other challenges that young people face.

The pair played the 11th hole and Vinnies were the hole sponsors for the challenge.
