WESTON club captains performed their first official duty for the Captains' Drive In in front of a large group of supporters on New Year's Day.

The first drives of each captain were measured and achieved a total distance of 740 yards. Well done to Steve Thomas in guessing the closest distance of 741 yards.

The captains headed a Bowmaker competition and despite the frosty weather conditions all players received a warm welcome in the clubhouse afterwards, and shared warm mulled wine to celebrate the New Year.

Aussie and Sue have joined forces in agreeing to raise funds throughout the year for Weston Hospicecare and they both look forward to helping members and visitors to raise a significant amount of money for this extremely worthy cause. The Captains Charity Golf Day is Wednesday, May 12, interested teams can find further information on the website www.westonsupermaregolfclub.com or request an entry form by telephoning 01934 626968.
