Good start for Backwell
BACKWELL Swimming Club hosted the first Four-Seasons gala of 2010 which is swum every few months between the Under 12s from Backwell, Bishopsworth, Burnham, Bristol Henleaze and Clevedon clubs.
BACKWELL Swimming Club hosted the first Four-Seasons gala of 2010 which is swum every few months between the Under 12s from Backwell, Bishopsworth, Burnham, Bristol Henleaze and Clevedon clubs.
With over 150 swimmers and almost as many cheering spectators, it is always an exciting event and this gala was only settled in the last few of the 52 races.
Backwell swimmers produced some excellent swims including a 32 sec PB from Joe Sullivan and other PB's included Eddie Robinson, Charlie Wring, Lillie Cogan and Florence Davis.
Backwell were also helped by some fantastic swims in their first galas from Jack White, Emma Mantzos, Jess Warburton and Finn Elskamp.

In the end, Bristol Henleaze finished just ahead of Backwell and Clevedon, but a second place is a good start for Backwell.
