Newly promoted to Division 1, Vets B players had a fine match playing well against Walton Wanderers. Jon Codd took Wanderers' Bill Bruton to five games and won one from Dave Grounsell. John Pollard also went to four against Bruton and took one from Grounsell and Andy Elliott. The match went 10-0 to Wanderers.

Totterdown C were also subjected to a baptism of fire in the top division, facing Winsc Rebels with Rob Hansen, Mike Baker and Dave Williams winning all their singles, though non emerged unscathed.

Hansen and Williams were taken to five games by Totterdown's Gary Chell. Mike Cross had a good match against Baker just losing out 11-9 in the fifth. Chell and Mark Price put up a good fight in the doubles which was won by 11-8 by Baker and Hansen, Rebels winning the match 10-0.

Neil Clements and Steve Charlton and Barry Lewis of Totterdown Revolutions are making a welcome return to league play and were tested by Winsc Renegades in their first match. Both seasoned Garry Cattermole and Paul Hayward won all their singles, Hayward without loss, Lewis taking two games from Cattermole. Dave Williams lost to Clements and Lewis, but beat Charlton in four. The doubles gave Renegades an 8-2 win.

In Division 2, two new teams, Totterdown Daemons and Rookery Rooks had a close opening season match with Rooks' Ian Clapp winning top points with all three singles in fine style. Rooks' Kim Popham and Chris Turner were unlucky in their first match of the season losing to Daemons' Burt Hiscock, Mike Summers and Jason King. Daemons won the match 25-8.

Totterdown Flamingos' Roger Bowden and Graham Cheeseman had a good opening match winning all their singles against C & C Cobras with Bowden losing one game to Simon Thomas. Mixed fortunes for Flamingos' Trevor Williams who lost narrowly to John Barker and Thomas, but beat Andrea Monk in four. A 3-0 doubles win gave Flamingos the match 25-8.

Two teams making their debuts in the League are C & C Clevedon and Walton Village, with Village proving the stronger team. Matthew Fligelstone and Andrew Paisey winning all three, both losing one game each. Clevedon's James Bessant took one from Fligelstone, Warren Taylor one from Paisey.. Walton's Michael Elliott fell short of nine points when defeated by Bessant in five. Village took the doubles giving them a winning score of 29-5.

Family team C & C Banwell, playing in the League for the first time, were against Winsc Warriors. Dad Martin Cope swept the board with all three. Jade Cope, with experience in the league last season, beat Anne Baker and Margaret Parker, but lost to Dave Parker in four. Hannah Cope's first match went well with a win over Margaret Parker. A close doubles, won by Martin and Jade, against Baker and Dave Parker meant a winning score 22-9 for C & C Banwell.

Banwell and Totterdown Flamingos had a tight match, Martin Cope taking top score with three singles wins. Roger Bowden, Graham Cheeseman and Trevor Williams defeated Jade and Hannah Cope, but the girls gave them a tough time, taking games from Bowden and Williams. Some consolation for C & C Banwell, with a 3-0 doubles win meant Flamingos had a close winning match 18-16.
