Gordano 20 ptsSt Bernadette's Old Boys 12 ptsTHIRD-placed Gordano ended the Old Boys' 100 per cent record as the two in-form sides in Somerset League 1 clashed at Caswell Lane. The Sharks were worthy winners and took their own winning run in the league to 10 games in front of a large home crowd, who were treated to the kind of stylish rugby that has taken the young squad to new heights.Playing with confidence they were able to stretch and penetrate the Bristol side's defence and for the most part limit them to playing in their own half. Gordano's tries came from Matt Rollings, Leon Blackman, Dan Martin and Matt Polsen.St Bernadette's pushed right to the final whistle, and their discipline and attractive running style showed why they are worthy league winners.Mention should also go to referee Stuart Turnbull whose game management resulted in only 14 penalty awards. With both sides willing to move the ball, it made for a competitive, spirited and skilful encounter that was a fantastic advertisement for Somerset One rugby.
