THE Year 7 football team at Gordano School had to come through two rounds in a week of the National Schools Competition.
In round 3 they beat Fairlands Middle School 4-1 with goals from Harrison Williams, Calum Townsend, Will Price and Nathan Douglas.
Six days later PE teacher Rob Supple's team played Beaufort Community School in Gloucester. Despite going two-nil down in the first half against a strong and fancied team, they battled back to win 4-3 thanks to goals from Ollie Carter (2), Calum Townsend and Nathan Douglas.
They are now in the last 64 of a competition that started with over 700 entrants.
