An 11-year-old Worle Community School Academy pupil has been selected for the Welsh Aerobic Gymnastics Home Nations team.
Lily-Jean Smith, who attends Weston Aerobic Gymnastics Club, will begin to train with the team through Zoom before meeting in person in Wales as soon as Covid-19 restrictions ease and could compete internationally if rules for travel are enabled.
She had only started Aerobic gymnastics at the age of four and five years later competed internationally for Great Britain in Bulgaria.
“I’m very excited to have been selected to represent Wales and I am looking forward to training with new coaches and gymnasts," Lily-Jean told the Good News Post website.
Principal Jacqui Scott added: “Lily-Jean is performing brilliantly in aerobic gymnastics and this is yet another tremendous accolade at such a young age.”
