Gymnasts win four gold medals at SW championships

Four gymnasts from Splitz Gym Club won gold medals at the South West Tumbling Championship.

SPLITZ Gym Club entered the South West Tumbling Championships and came home with nine medals – four golds, four silvers and one bronze.

Gymnasts entered were: Isabelle Murphy, Harley Richards, Abel Luke, Emma Byrne, Maisie Carter, Jessica Wilford, Taylor Conway, Amy Green, Ellie Mae Shearer, Mali Lloyd, Archie Pickles, Katie Bellamy, Olivia Harvey Bennett, Elleanor Atwell, Chili Harling, Siena Cunliffe, Sam Middleton, Lennon Coles. Kayleigh Down, Libby Bunker.

Some gymnasts from the club were competing for the first time and had some amazing scores, Coach Sharon Benham said: “We have some fantastic tumblers in our club and I am proud of all gymnasts who competed they all have worked so hard.”

Highlights of the day were - Grade 1 age 9-10 years: Abel Luke (gold); Archie Pickles (silver). Grade 1 age 11-12 years: Maisie Carter (gold). Grade 1 age 15+: Mali Lloyd (gold).

The clubs next tumbling competition is the prelims in March.
