Winscombe are still looking for their first victory of the season, going down by 117 runs against close neighbours Cheddar.

Winscombe travelled to Cheddar looking for their first league win of the season.

After losing the toss, Winscombe let the home side get away to a quick start, with 70 runs coming without loss in the first 10 overs. After the breakthrough was made by Lunn, the introduction of the wily Mike Coe (4-32) and Vowles (1-36) led to a Cheddar collapse to 180-7. However, an excellent eighth wicket stand took the Cheddar total to an imposing 279-7 after their 45 overs.

In reply, Winscombe lost early wickets with only an impressive 51 from Cureton making a dent in the target. Some late sensible batting from Kennedy (17) and Clough (18 not out) helped Winscombe pick up useful batting points, but in the end they fell 117 runs short in being all out for 162.
