HUNDREDS of spectators braved the cold weather to enjoy some top quality motorsport action at the former Weston airfield at the weekend.
More than 50 competitors took part in a rally organised by Weston Motor Club on Sunday which saw each driver complete four timed stages, covering 16 miles in the process.
And the home club performed admirably, with eight of the top 10 finishers coming from Weston.
The highly competitive event culminated in a close finish, with Plymouth’s Dave Parnell in a Subaru Impreza beating James Harvey by just six seconds.
Tim Walton, club secretary, described the day as a great success and said the small ‘yump’ which sent cars airborne proved a big hit with both drivers and spectators.
