Hornettes sent three teams to the Somerset touch rugby festival held at Nailsea and Backwell.

The weather was perfect as Hornettes ladies and girls attended the Somerset touch rugby festival at Nailsea and Backwell.

Hornettes fielded three teams, consisting of players from the Under-13s, 15s and 18s sections, several of the ladies team, one coach, and even a willing parent.

The spirit of the event was one of participation, so despite each team facing up to five games, the only winners on the day were the spectators, treated to some sublime displays of skill, and the game of rugby itself.

If anyone would like to see what girls or ladies rugby is all about, training is at Hornets on Hutton Moor Road, every Wednesday from 5.30pm for Under-13s and 15s, and 7pm for Under-18s and ladies.
