Ideal conditions met athletes for the final race in the Weston Athletic Club Prom Race series.

THE final races of the 2012/2013 Weston Athletic Club Prom Race series took place in ideal conditions.

Twenty-seven juniors and 225 seniors took part in the two races and afterwards awards were presented to the winners of both the junior race, the senior race and the series winners.

The junior athletes competed in the one-mile junior race. First home was Daniel Gadsby in 5.43, followed by Henry Cox in 5.50 and William Fuller in 5.53. First girl home was Erin Popham in 6.41, followed by Melissa Poole in 6.53 and Georgia Seviour in 7.16.

All juniors who had competed in all of the new one-mile races since they started in 2012 were presented with a Weston AC race T-shirt.

First runner home in the senior race was Will Russell from Bristol and West in 27.17, followed in second place by Dan Summers from Westbury Harriers in 27.36 and in third place was Scott Campbell, also from Westbury Harriers in 27.41.

First lady home was Helen Brew from Great Western Runners in 32.22, second place went to Julie Poole in 32.34 from Clevedon AC and third was Louise Cronin in 33.45 from Great Western Runners.
