SOMERSET Rebels new captain for 2011, James Holder, is eager to put a frustrating winter behind him when the Rebels get back on track with their season launching press and practice day tomorrow (Fri).

Holder’s Australian season was over almost as soon as it began, when he picked up a shoulder injury in his first meeting, which was to keep him out of the saddle for the entire campaign.

“It was a real sickner,” said 24-year-old Holder, “but thankfully with it happening right at the start of the season, it gave me plenty of time for the injury to heal up ready for the start of Somerset’s new season.”

“Obviously, not being able to race during the winter was terribly frustrating, so I am all the more eager to get things under way with the Rebels. I really feel at home with the club, it is a tremendous team to ride for and I am really honoured to be named as team captain for the new season.”
