Somerset Rebels captain Jason Doyle finished second in the Australian Speedway Championship.
JASON Doyle, who led the Cases Somerset Rebels to their historic triple Championship-winning season last year, finished second in the Australian Speedway Championship.
The championship was decided over three rounds, the first being at Kurri Kurri, New South Wales. Doyle headed home Chris Holder, the four-time previous winner in the final, though Holder was to get his revenge in the second round staged at Undera Park, Victoria.
This left the pair all-square heading into the third and deciding round at Gillman Raceway in South Australia. In the final, Doyle unfortunately fell on the second lap, with Holder finishing second to claim his fifth title.
