John smashes Shiplate Farm lake record

Bristol PO angler John Hawkins smashed the main lake record by nearly 30lbs at Shiplate Farm Fisheries.

AN OPEN match on the main lake at Shiplate Farm Fisheries saw the match record smashed by nearly 30lbs, now standing at 203lb 14oz.

John Hawkins (Bristol PO) fished paste on the pole at 11m in the right hand margin and alternated the feeder to the island using pellet to bag up the amazing new match record from peg one.

Second was Julian Pinkett (Bristol PO) peg 5, 105lb 3oz; followed by Ritchie Hawkins (Bristol PO) peg 14b, 95lb 11oz and Nigel Webber (Shiplate) peg 15, 81lbs. Silvers went to John Dursley (Enterprise Angling Taunton) peg 11, 19lb 14oz.

Bristol-based PSV match group held a match on the Hawthorns, with Lee Williams finishing first from peg 3, 90lb 2oz. He was followed by Brian Shanks (peg 1), 80lb 7oz; Matt Challenger (peg 10), 73lb 4oz and Mark Radford (peg 4), 71lb 4oz. Silvers went to Matt Taynton 6lb 8oz.
