IN the third and final round of the Junior Speedo League, Weston travelled to Bridport, Dorset, where they competed against Bristol North, Claysmore and West Dorset Warriors. This was a fantastic night of swimming for Weston who took 25 top placings from 50 races. Weston started the evening in style with the nine year girls freestyle and medley teams taking maximum points. For the boys, the nine-year-old team of James Gahame, Jonah Lynch, Jack Walbyoff and Jack Roberts gained two important second places in their races. Weston were neck and neck with the Warriors throughout the evening and went into the final events a point behind their Dorset opponents. After some gutsy performances and many personal bests by both girls and boys, Weston gained victory by three points. This was Weston's first gala win this season and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and parents alike. Well done everyone with special mention to Holly Baines, Lucy Davies, Emily Watkins and Charlotte Bowden for great support. The club would like to offer the Walbyoff family best wishes and good luck on their move to Devon, the whole family have been involved with Weston for many years.
