A successful junior tournament was held at Weston Tennis Club.
WESTON Tennis Club, based in Neva Road, held a junior tournament which was well attended by members and their families.
The Under-10s event was contested on a round robin basis with six youngsters taking part in some thrilling matches. The eventual winner was Joshua Redfern, who defeated a spirited Natalia Bak 7-3, 7-4.
The Under-16s event had 10 entries and these were split into two groups. Again there were some great games and the winner was Daniel Gadsby, who beat a battling Oliver Fuller 6-3 in an outstanding final.
The tournament was organised by the club’s head coach, Jamie Allen, who said the standard of play throughout the day was impressive.
Jamie holds extensive group and individual coaching for adults, and for juniors aged four to 17 years, including a range of mini tennis courses.
He will also be holding a summer camp for juniors on July 29 to July 31 and summer fun days on August 7 and 21, when youngsters can learn a variety of tennis skills and have lots of fun.
