Kieren in second spot in first year of racing

Debutant saloon car racing driver Kieren Simmons, is currently sitting in second position at the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship.

KIEREN Simmons, in his first season of saloon car racing, is holding second spot in the two litre class of the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship and seventh overall in the championship.

His Ford Fiesta, sponsored by Ian Studley Cars, which is still running a standard 150bhp engine, took on much more powerful cars at the rain-soaked circuit on August Bank Holiday.

From a grid of 34 cars, Kieren finished an amazing fourth overall. There is one more race to go on October 4 in this nine-race championship, to finish off a remarkable season.
