Kingfishers defeated the Panthers to win the Weston Netball Summer League.
Kingfishers 34
Panthers 21
KINGFISHERS triumphed in the final of the Weston Summer Netball Cup.
From the start, both teams were eager and highly competitive and matched each other goal for goal. Despite a few last minute changes to the Kings line-up, they held their own and by half-time, Panthers were winning by three.
An uplifting pep talk re-energised Kingfishers and their experience and determination shone through. Laura’s shooting was on form thanks to some pin point feeds from Sarah and Nadina.
Lauren and Nicky in defence, had Panthers unwilling to shoot and Emma, Becky and little Laura were committed to tight marking and turned many balls over resulting in Kingfishers gaining a substantial lead which was too much for Panthers.
Kingfishers are now summer league champions and are looking forward to a successful winter season.
