Ladies sitting pretty
Weston Squash Club ladies’ teams are enjoying a successful year.
WESTON Squash and Racketball Club are fielding two ladies’ teams this season in the Bristol & District League.
Both teams are strong and currently sit in the top quarter of Division 1 and Division 2. Some of these players are ranked in the top 10 of the league, namely Natalie Lawrence (5) and Rosie Bellinger (9), closely followed by the youngest player, Emma Lane, currently ranked 13.
The club also field four mixed teams, which again have strong players including Luke Bishop and Rob Watkins, who are ranked in the top 15.
A successful junior squad train regularly at the club under the guidance of Sally Thompson, the club coach. Children aged between seven and 16 attend, ranging from beginners to county players.
