Team Mendip ladies comprehensively beat Ilminster Town by 9-0 in their first home game of the season.
IN THEIR first home game of the season, Team Mendip ladies hosted Ilminster Town at Worle Rec and recorded a comprehensive 9-0 victory.
Mendip got off to a good start and were 2-0 up after 10 minutes, but Ilminster made Mendip work hard for their victory.
They had their chances and the Mendip defence of Kirsty Hill, Amy Clark, Beth Rowlands, and captain Marie Frost, were all on their toes to keep the Ilminster strikers quiet.
The Mendip midfield of Ash Richards, Chaz Timmings, Mandy Gornicki and new signing Ellie Orritt were outstanding and gave a lesson on how to pass a ball.
Orritt and Timmings showed they can score goals as well with two apiece, while Ash Richards also scored. Laura McCarthy was superb up front and partnered Demi Reading, helping her to score four goals to secure an emphatic win for Team Mendip.
Girl of the game went to Chaz Timmings.
