WRINGTON-based race car preparation company, Thatchway Motorsport, returned from a successful weekend at Silverstone race circuit after competing in the BRSCC OSS series.

In free practice, team owner Darcy Smith was the fastest in class by over a second. Son Josh took control of the car for qualifying and led it to class pole by just under one second.

With Josh competing in race one, he led from start to finish with his closest rival a distant 20 seconds behind when the chequered flag came out, taking the fastest lap of the race and smashing the lap record.

On Sunday, it was Darcy’s turn and after starting from the back of the grid, he took just three laps to hit the front of his class which allowed him to take a well-earned victory, fastest lap and breaking Josh’s short-lived lap record.
