Local champion Libby Allen helped Phil Ford from Ichenor to win two races on Axbridge Reservoir.
VISITORS from as far afield as Penarth, Penzance, Chichester and Sri Lanka came to Axbridge Reservoir to compete in an invitation Enterprise Severnside open meeting.
A total of 10 entries enjoyed three competitive races in light and variable conditions, with the overall results being decided by discard and position in the final race.
Phil Ford from Ichenor, crewed by local champion Libby Allen won the first two races to take first place overall.
Jeremy Stevens from Penzance crewed by his daughter Rebecca sailed through the fleet in race one to finish just behind Phil Ford, in a boat he bought the previous day on Ebay. He showed great speed once he got the starts right with a win the final race to give him second overall.
Visiting Sri Lankan sailor Akshan Jiranschine, now based in Bristol, was pipped out of third place by local lady helm Alice Allen with Carol Ford. The girls sneaked from fifth to second on the last leg of the last race as all the places changed in the last few yards, and Akshan came out worst in the final race decider.
