AVON Schools' Golf Association held their annual competition at Clevedon and local players who were representing Clevedon Community School swept the board.

On a fine dry day with the course providing plenty of run, Myles Angell headed the leader board in the gross competition with a fine score of 72, one stroke ahead of Dean Newbold from Filton College, while Alister Balcombe, with a handicap of 12, took the nett prize with a score of 68.

Team performances are all important in this competition and again three players from both the local club and school were the winners: Toby Chapman and Alister and Stuart Balcombe who registered the best two-from-three score of 140. The trio now go forward to represent Avon Schools in the EGU National Schools Championships at Came Down in July.
