Locking Park were held to a draw by close neighbours Worle Rangers.

Worle Rangers 3

Locking Park 3

An up-and-down performance from Locking Park saw them draw away to Worle Rangers.

Worle started well, getting the ball down the middle of the Park defence to score on three minutes. Locking struck back soon after with Joe Pearson scoring another header from a corner delivered by Ryan Harris.

Locking Park keeper Jake Farrow then hoofed a ball to Tom Rolls, who expertly chipped the Worle keeper to make it 2-1 on 23 minutes. Locking scored another when Michael Bollard put through Ryan Harris to make it 3-1 before half-time.

Worle Rangers started the second half like the first and scored within five minutes to make it 3-2. Minutes later Joe Pearson gave away a penalty that saw Farrow produce a quality save to keep Locking ahead.

Worle got their equaliser with a counter attack ending in a ball across the Park box beating the keeper and the attacker tapping into an empty net.

Special mentions to Russ Carter for another quality performance and Landing Light man of the match Mike Green.

KVFC 3

Wrington Redhill Res 1

Wrington endured a frustrating trip to runaway league leaders KVFC and were left wondering how they left with nothing to show for their efforts.

The tone was set less than a minute from kick-off, as Simon Lee failed to capitalise on a weak back pass, hitting his shot wildly over the bar with only the keeper to beat.

To rub salt into the wound, against the run of play the hosts took the lead, as a long clearance was finished smartly.

The stuffing was knocked out of Wrington shortly after the restart as a tame shot somehow evaded Jacob Burnett at his near post.

Wrington finally got their reward, as Michak O’Connor’s smart turn and finish capped a decent afternoon’s work for the forward.

As Wrington pushed forward in search of an equaliser, another long ball by KVFC saw a shot that somehow rolled in at the right-hand post.

Shipham 3

Uphill Castle A 5

Uphill Castle A produced a good performance to record a deserved win against a powerful Shipham side.

Uphill got off to the perfect start when Adam Clibbett’s cross was superbly volleyed in by striker Matt Bebber. Uphill’s defenders Ash Baldwin, Dave Long, Will Foster and Josh Thorne were struggling to deal with the long ball tactics being used by Shipham and they soon found themselves 3-1 down.

Uphill got back into the game when Josh Morris was fouled and Matt Borrett fired home the penalty to make the score 3-2. Minutes later Uphill were awarded another penalty when the lively Bebber was brought down and again Borrett netted.

Keeper Ben Pratt had to make a couple of saves to keep the scores level at half-time. The second half was totally different with Uphill doing all the attacking and there were chances for Jack Askins, Dan Thomas, Bebber and Clibbett, but all were saved or went wide. Uphill eventually got the goal they deserved when Thomas fired home from close range.

The score became 3-5 when Clibbett’s corner was superbly volleyed home by Borrett to complete his hat-trick.

TESA player of the match was Matt Borrett.
