The Presidents and Cleeve Ducks produced an exciting tie in Division 2 of the Proper Job Weston Midweek League.
In Division 2 of the Proper Job Weston Midweek League, a low-scoring encounter between the Presidents and Cleeve Ducks ended in a tie.
Batting first, the Ducks made 104 with Dave Havingden taking 5-31. In reply, R Wiggley scored 38 but the Presidents lost their last wicket with the scores level.
The Ducks enjoyed better fortune against the Parpagon Carriers as Andy Marshall top scored with 56 and B Robinson contributed 41 in a total of 152-4, with Edwin Morris taking 3-24 and Stuart Williams 2-38.
Salim Nazim led the reply with 44 and Geraint Reynolds made 39, but Tom Court took 2-25 and Tom Chambers 2-30 to leave the Carriers on 137-8, 15 runs short of their target.
Uphill Castle’s Sam Matthews took 5-17, but Cleeve still managed to total 168-8 with M Want making 61, G Levin 38 and C Hance 21. Sam Frost made 42 in Uphill’s reply, but Hance claimed 4-36 as Cleeve won by 38 runs.
S Neate made 40 and A Platt 47 as the Presidents totalled 133-5 against the Parpagon Carriers. Salim Nazim followed up his 3-44 with 53 not out as the Carriers eased to an eight-wicket win.
