Fencer Luke Mason won a bronze medal at the British Youth Championships held in Sheffield.

Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College student, Luke Mason, aged 14, competed in the British Youth Championships held in Sheffield.

He competed in the boy’s under-16 category of foil and epee. In the foil event, his timing was out and fell down the order, finishing 32nd overall.

In the epee event, Luke won all but one of his pool bouts, giving him a good ranking and earning a last eight place. He dominated the bout with much better point control and accuracy, winning the fight most convincingly, but lost in the semi-final to earn a bronze medal.
