Weston keeper Luke Purnell has been called up to the contingency squad for England C’s friendly against Cyprus Under-21s.
WESTON goalkeeper Luke Purnell has re-affirmed his position as one of the best goalkeepers in the South West at non-league level with a call-up to the contingency squad for England C’s friendly against Cyprus Under-21s at the Ammochostos Stadium in Larnaca on February 17 (7.45pm).
The 24-year-old has been in excellent form for the Seagulls, winning the club’s independent supporters association player of the month award for December and January.
The call-up represents his last chance of representing his country at C level, with the next fixture coming after he has achieved the age of 25 and therefore ruling him out of future selection.
