Lympsham Airways defeated Athletico by four wickets in Division 1 of the Weston Proper Job Midweek League.
AN eighth wicket stand between Phil Munden (19 not out) and Keiran Chapman (19 not out), enabled Athletico to reach 139-7 against Lympsham Airways in Division 1 of the Weston Proper Job Midweek League.
Jack Luff top scored with 44 and Craig Scrivens followed his 2-20 with 25, as the Airways reached their target with four wickets in hand.
The Airways also enjoyed a narrow victory when they played the Windsor Castle. Batting first Jamie Howson (51) and Hayden Tuttiet (44) scored the bulk of the runs in a total of 154-7. Sam Trego took 2-25 and Anthony Bassidy 2-21. Trego anchored the reply with 41, but Tom Gooding claimed 5-12 runs as the Windsor finished 15 runs short.
In Division 2, Paul Gadsden scored 142 as Locking Castle rattled up an imposing 219-4 against the Coach House. Dave Mitchell scored a defiant 47 in reply as the Coach House managed 125-7 in their inning.
Kevin Crockett top scored with 67 as Belvedere made 185-6 against Mark. Dave Fairhurst stepped in to take 3-11 off five overs as Mark were dismissed for 63.
Only Keith Jackson with 31 made any impression with the bat as Locking Castle struggled against the bowling of C Neate (2-17) and Nathan Handcock (2-22), finishing on 127-9. In reply, the Presidents enjoyed one of their more comfortable victories as they ran out eight-wicket winners thanks to the efforts of Andy Platts (42), Dave Holland (39 not out) and Nathan Hancock (37 not out).
In a more typical Presidents encounter against Parpagon Carriers, the match finished all square. Nathan Hancock made 59 not out and Andy Platt 24 as the Presidents posted 116-7.
Geraint Reynolds put the Carriers on the road to victory with 42, but with two required off the last ball, they could only manage a single.
