Lympsham & Belvedere seconds returned to winning ways with a comfortable 80-run victory at Uphill Castle.

L&B opted to bat first and lost Nathan Hancock (14) with the score on 18, caught behind off the bowling of Pete Jobling.

Sam Neate and Jason Parsons looked to put the bad ball away and ran well between the wickets, with Parsons (36) starting to dominate the home attack when he was well held at point by James Robinson off the bowling of Mike O`Sullivan to make it 87-2 in the 16th over.

Neate continued to accumulate runs steadily and was joined by Kevin Crockett, who looked to score quickly, and they added 67 before in-form Neate (55) was dismissed by H Frake in the 26th over.

Crockett was joined by Tom Cates and accelerated and drove the ball down the ground powerfully as the home team began to suffer.

The 200 came up in the 33rd over as Crockett dominated a fourth-wicket stand of 91 before Cates (19) was caught behind off the bowling of O`Sullivan in the penultimate over.

Crockett hit boundaries off the third and fifth balls of the last over to reach an excellent century as he finished unbeaten on 102, with two sixes and 15 fours, as L&B closed on 260-4.

L&B made a great start to the Uphill innings as Paul Davis (6-0-32-1) trapped Skeen (8) in front with the score on 13 but P Frake and T Robinson played positively to add 54 for the second wicket.

The introduction of Tom Deane paid immediate dividends as he took two wickets in his first over, as Robinson (20) was caught behind by Neate and Loud (4) was held at deep mid on by Brian Hosey.

P Frake was joined by H Frake (13) and they batted well to add 39 before Deane bowled the latter to see Uphill 110-4.

A mini collapse saw Uphill lose four wickets for seven runs as Crockett took two in his fourth over to account for O`Sullivan, well held at square leg by Cates, and P Frake (57) caught at long on by Hosey.

Deane (8-1-24-4) dismissed King (0) to end an impressive spell against his old team and Crockett (8-2-32-3) trapped Leech (0) in front as Uphill slipped to 134-8.

Home skipper James Robinson (47) batted well, assisted by Neve Kennedy, to add 46 for the ninth wicket before being bowled by Hancock (6-1-25-1), giving him a deserved wicket.

Jack Neville (5.1-0-36-1) returned to bowl Kennedy (1) as Uphill were dismissed for 180 in the last over as the Butcombe Brewing Company man of the match went to Crockett for an excellent all-round display.
