County title for Marcus

Uphill Badminton Club member Marcus Pan became the Under-14 Avon County champion.

Last weekend saw the Avon county Under-14 and 18 restricted tournaments at Gordano.

Uphill Badminton Club’s Marcus Pan took the Under-14 singles title defeating Toby Pridmore (Chew Valley) 21-20 in a thrilling final.

Vincent Tsang won his box also making the semis losing out 21-9 to Marcus.

In the doubles, Marcus and Vincent teamed up to win their box with ease. This pitted the top two seeds together in the final with the Uphill duo just missing out 17-21 to Toby and Aarya.

The day finished with the mixed where Marcus made it to the semis to take joint third place.

In the Under-18, event, Uphill were represented by Sophie Gardner, Shuo Shuo Jin, Lewis Gilbert and Zion Chen. All four put up a good show against a very strong field in both events.
