MEDIVALE suffered their heaviest defeat since joining the Sunday League at the hands of an improved Woodspring side, which finally put paid to their hopes of retaining the league title.
Although under strength, they lost playmaker Callum McManus with a hamstring injury and then also lost keeper Carl James just before half-time.
With no substitutes it was always going to be an uphill struggle and it showed as Woodspring began to exploit gaps in Medivale’s defence. Two consolation goals from Scott Thompson and Brayer were the only bright spots on a disappointing day.
Results: Woodspring 8, Medivale 2; Clevedon Crusaders 0, BFC 2; White Hart 2, Weston Spartans 3; Bottle Bar 0, BBH 9.
