Team Mendip Girls Under-11s were in good form, defeating Wedmore 8-0.

Team Mendip Girls Under-11s were excited and raring to go after last week’s draw with Clevedon, coupled with the return of Lilly Stevens for a last match before she is off to be a member of Bristol City Academy.

It was Bonnie Greedy who opened the scoring against Wedmore with a tremendous strike. Ellie-Mae Brennan had a great start up front and was unlucky not to score on a number of occasions.

Brooke Stirrup, Daisy Robins and Jess Selwyn displayed some excellent passing and helped Greedy to fire home another goal.

With 15 minutes of the firs-half to go, it was all change, as Lilly S and Willow Hull took to the pitch and made sure everyone knew they shouldn’t have been left out, with four outstanding goals from Willow in quick succession made her a clear and easy choice for South West Property Maintenance girl of the game.

Stevens displayed her undoubted talent with flawless passing, strong tackles and two brilliant finishes for both her goals. Izzy Pring, Libby Avery, Chloe and Charlotte Morris all had fantastic games, with Abby Delafield having little to do in goal, as Mendip ran out 8-0 winners.

The club are always looking for players, from ages five to adults. Contact Andy Stallard on 07813 988948 for more details.
