Mother-of-four Michelle Jenkins is setting her sights on Australia following a successful weekend in the pool. The 37-year-old, a member of Bristol Central Swimming Club who is well known in the Yatton area, took part in seven races at the 2007 British Masters Championships at the Manchester Aquatics Centre. She came away with two silvers and a gold medal in the 35-39 year age group. The gold medal came as a pleasant surprise, as Michelle, of Portishead, knocked four seconds off her entry time to win it. Michelle started competing in the masters swimming competitions as an extra incentive to help keep herself fit for her water polo, which she still plays at a National League level. She is now hoping to go over to Perth, Australia for the World Masters in April 2008, to compete in both the Swimming and water polo disciplines.
