THE third Southern AGRRRession event took place at the Winter Gardens and the night had nine exciting bouts of mixed martial arts, held in a custom-build steel cage.Fighters came from across the South West and Wales to compete in this prestigious event.Adam Stanton from Weston won decisively making his opponent, a karate instructor from South Wales, submit to an arm bar within the first two minutes of the opening round.Chris Harbottle, from Weston MMA, scored a bruising victory after 10 minutes of tough striking and Ben White also fought a tough fight to win a unanimous judges' decision. The fastest win and the fighter of the evening went to Tim Newman from Newport who beat an experienced Bristol fighter in 20 seconds. During the night there was expert display by Nailsea's Black Eagles who impressed the 450-strong crowd with a dynamic demonstration of stick fighting.The event was promoted by Weston's Angrrr Management, whose next card will be an international event on Sunday, May 14.
