The mixed greensomes format proved popular as 36 pairings battled it out for the Clayton Cup.

Steve Coller and Jill Middleton, although last out, immediately threw down the gauntlet scoring birdies on the third, fourth, fifth and sixth holes. Their good form continued putting them clear at the top of the leader board on 40 points.

Club captain David Fife partnered by Susie Gibbins and Tony Brown partnered by Ruth Steele both finished just one point behind.
