The mixed greensomes format proved popular as 36 pairings battled it out for the Clayton Cup.
Steve Coller and Jill Middleton, although last out, immediately threw down the gauntlet scoring birdies on the third, fourth, fifth and sixth holes. Their good form continued putting them clear at the top of the leader board on 40 points.
Club captain David Fife partnered by Susie Gibbins and Tony Brown partnered by Ruth Steele both finished just one point behind.
Earlier the Seniors' summer knock-out competition was won by Mike Parker and Myles Angell was rewarded for his four under par performance in the club's Junior Open in June by inclusion in the party of 12 representing clubs from throughout the UK who go forward to compete in the Daily Telegraph sponsored Abu Dhabi Junior championships in November.
