Sam Stephens is back on the podium again at Dunkeswell Kart Racing Championships.
TWELVE-year-old Sam Stephens was once again back on the podium in the fourth round of the Dunkeswell Kart Racing Championships.
Despite only a short practice session on the Saturday at the Mansell Raceway, Sam achieved some competitive and consistent lap times.
On race day, Sam was placed fourth on the grid in heat one and finished in third place. In heat two, Sam was again fourth on the grid, but clawed his way up to second position, but by the end of the heat had to settle for fourth place.
In heat three, Sam was in pole position but made a mistake on the first lap and dropped down to third which he maintained for the rest of the nine lap heat. In the final Sam was third on the grid and got off to a flying start and drove consistently to hold his position until the end of the race.
The Worle School student has now achieved a podium place in all four rounds of the Dunkeswell Championships and still has his sights set firmly on the No 1 spot.
