Karting star Jacob Ashcroft captured his first class victory and set the fastest lap time at Shennington.

Jacob Ashcroft, aged seven, of Castle Batch Primary School, returned to Shennington Kart Track for the UK Kart Series in which he came runner-up last year.

This time Jabob captured his first IAME class win. He set the fastest lap in qualifying to take pole position and then went on to win the three heat races and took victory in the final, breaking the Bambino lap record.

Jacob also competes at a national level in the BKC, Bambino Kart Club, which after seven rounds he is in third place.

Round eight takes place in Scotland at the beginning of September.
