A NEW company has been granted permission to run Weston Beach Race over five days this year.

Oxfordshire’s Events 22 has been chosen by North Somerset Council following a tendering process.

It will host the event for the next three years with the option to extend that for a further two.

North Somerset Council executive member for tourism, Felicity Baker, said: “Events 22 is a market leader in staging live sporting events.

“We are looking forward to working with it on the exciting proposals.”
