The Formula Ford 1600 Championship celebrated its 50th anniversary with the first two races of the season at the Castle Combe Circuit.

Langford's Roger Ogree arrived with confidence and looked good for pole position.

However, a gearbox failure meant he had to start from the front row.

Thanks to work of Kevin Mills's team, former two time champion Orgee was one of four drivers to get away from the pack, entertaining the crowd in the process.

On the final lap, Orgee who was in third place behind Josh Fisher, patiently waited for an opportunity, moved himself into second place. His move saw him move behind Flex Fisher but in front of Luke Cooper in third with Josh settling for fourth.

The second race began the same way as the same four distanced themselves away from the rest of the drivers.

A small change saw Orgee finish in fourth place as Flex Fisher won the Guards Trophy.
