THE Somerset Rebels are pleased to announce that last season's highly successful Speedway In The Community scheme is to continue for next season, with the South West's leading building merchants, Bradfords, once again sponsoring the scheme.Brainchild of Somerset's marketing manager Paul Oughton, the initiative saw a local community group not only attend a match at the Oak Tree Arena each week courtesy of Bradfords, but also have a personally guided tour of the pits, meeting the riders in the process."The Scheme was a fantastic success, especially given it was in its first year," commented Oughton. "Over the course of the season, some 500 people benefited from Bradfords' generosity, the vast majority of these attending a speedway meeting for the first time, hopefully a number of these will become long-term speedway fans."Bradfords were overwhelmed by the response and feedback by those groups that benefited from the scheme last year, and were more than happy to continue their support for the forthcoming season."Any local community group who wish to apply to take part in Bradfords Speedway In The Community Scheme at the Oak Tree Arena can obtain details from Paul Oughton at marketing-somersetspeedway@hotmail.co.uk
